Operating Procedures for Kill Manifold
（1） Working principle of kill manifold
When the wellhead is fully sealed with a fully sealed ram, the high-pressure pump is connected to the kill manifold to allow the kill fluid to enter the wellbore through a single flow valve and carry out the kill operation.
The Function of Kill Manifold
1. When the fully sealed ram is shut in, the kill fluid is forcibly pumped into the well through the kill manifold to achieve the kill operation.
2. When a blowout occurs, clear water is forcibly pumped into the well through the kill manifold to prevent combustion and fire.
3. When a blowout or fire occurs, the extinguishing agent is forcibly pumped into the well through the kill manifold to assist in extinguishing the fire.
（2） Kill manifold operation steps
Firstly, the high-pressure pump at the well site should be connected to the single flow valve on one wing of the kill manifold (depending on the situation at the well site). Close the flat valves Y2 and Y3, open the flat valves Y1 and Y3, and the large four-way gate at the wellhead. Start the high-pressure pump and pump in the kill fluid to achieve the kill operation.
（3） Maintenance method for kill manifold:
1. The wellhead equipment manufacturer regularly checks and adds lubricating oil and grease;
2. The flat valve in the manifold must not be forcibly tightened, and the handwheel must be rotated by 1/4-1/2 turns when in place;
3. Each gate valve in the manifold should be numbered and listed;
4. In the throttle manifold, when manually adjusting the throttle valve, a person should be on the valve side;
5. The kill manifold should not be used for daily injection of kill fluid to avoid pipeline failure due to corrosion;
When the throttle valve malfunctions, the upstream and downstream gate valves can be closed, and the downstream gate valves of the backup throttle valve can be opened to make the backup throttle valve work;
When repairing the one-way valve, the downstream gate valve can be closed.
