Operation process of choke manifold
1、 Installation of Choke and Kill Manifold
1. Choke and kill manifolds are installed on both sides of the wellhead spool.
2. The vent pipe line is installed in the downwind direction of the local wind direction, and is connected 30 meters away from the wellhead.
3. The kill pipeline is installed on the casing gate in the upwind direction of the local area.
4. The diameter of the blowoff pipeline shall not be less than 50mm, and the blowoff gate shall be 3m away from the wellhead.
5. The choke manifold must be equipped with a high and low pressure gauge device.
2、 Operating Procedures for Choke Manifolds
The manual throttle valve is controlled by a person rotating the handwheel to control the opening degree of the throttle valve. The hydraulic throttle valve is controlled by a hydraulic control box to control the opening degree of the throttle valve. By controlling the opening degree of the throttle valve, changes in shut-in casing pressure and vertical pressure can be controlled.
The functions of a choke manifold include the following two aspects
1. Reduce wellhead pressure through the pressure relief effect of the throttle valve, achieving "soft shut in";
2. By releasing a large amount of liquid (gas) through the direct passage of the blowout prevention valve, the pressure of the wellhead casing is reduced, the wellhead blowout preventer group is protected, and the overflow is led out of the well site to prevent fire and personnel poisoning, ensuring the safety of underground workers
3、 Operation process of choke manifold
Firstly, close one of the flat valves J1 of the main diameter, and then sequentially close the flat valves J3, J6, J7, J9, and J11. Then, open the flat valves J4, J8, and J10 to form a throttling channel (or choose another wing as the channel, depending on the on-site situation). Open the flat valve J1 and pass through the throttling valve J5 to relieve pressure and reduce wellhead pressure, achieving "soft shutdown".
First, close the main diameter flat valve J1, and then close the flat valves J3, J4 in sequence
J6, J8, J9, J11, open the flat valve J7, J10, and then open the flat valve J1 to form a blowout channel. A large amount of liquid (gas) is released through the blowout prevention channel to reduce the pressure of the wellhead casing and protect the wellhead blowout preventer group.
